WiSTAR3 is our committee that specifically focuses on the needs of graduate women in STEM fields, while also engaging post-docs and faculty members, by holding monthly networking events, professional development workshops, and socials to help prepare graduate students for careers in advanced research.

One-on-one mentoring program social: "Speed Networking"To kick-off our newest mentoring program that pairs graduate students with a post-doc or faculty member, we hosted a social event to introduce potential mentors and mentees at Jig and Reel Whisky Bar (101 S. Central Ave. Knoxville, TN 37902) at 7 PM on Tuesday, November 7th.

A panel of current post-docs at UT and ORNL described their experiences searching and interviewing for post-doctoral positions and then what it was like when they go there! Graduate students considering a post-doc asked questions about how to be a competitive candidate, and how to overcome various challenges.
